I have several catts mounted on driftwood from the California (Mendocino) coast, soaked for weeks in fresh water to remove the salt. They require watering almost every day... just sayin'...

Yeah I know. Watering is my biggest issue with mounted ones. I have to find a way how to keep them hydrated for those few times I'm on vacation or on getaway weekends.. Maybe a drip system with a a timer would do the trick?

Btw I'm also wanting to mount a miniature Slc...

Beautiful project! Just place the mounts in the shallow tray of water the way so orchids stay above the water. Driftwood will absorb water and stay moist. I mounted my dendrobium orchids on driftwood a few days ago and I keep them on the trays with water. Works well for me
