    Default I'm in Shock!

I was watering today and noticed something truly incredible! My miltoniopsis noid has two small spikes! IT'S A MIRACLE! As I have confessed many times on this site, I am a milt killer. I adore them, but I CANNOT for the life of me keep them alive.

So, to have one that has been with me since February or March of this year is, in and of itself, a small wonder. (particularly with the incredibly hot summer we've had). But to have it double spiked is shocking! I set it in the middle of the kitchen table to admire its little spikes all day! I almost can't believe it. Maybe he has heard me talking about the greenhouse and decided to hang in there--hoping for a spot near the misting fan in the new posh digs.

    Hooray!!! That's really great!

I have one too that so far looks good - but I doubt I can expect such fabulous spiking just yet.

Did you get the plant in bloom? If so, how long after the old bloom died, did these spikes start?

I got one in May and it bloomed all of the summer - it finally dropped the blooms at the end of August (longest lasting blooms I have ever had!). All the while it has been working on three new growths, which are pretty good-sized now, but not with a bulb yet. So I am keeping my fingers crosses that one of those new growths will one day reward me with a spike.

Any idea on time frame?? Or other tips o-spiked-one?

Yay, well done! Can't wait to see some blooms.

Milts scare me but I was nuts enough to get a masdie which is still alive.

Congrats, Sadie! I find milts very difficult myself so kudos to you!
