Default Prime Orchid Time . . . for me anyway

Fall is just wonderful--the summer heat is over. I don't have to water nearly as often and all the plants start spiking! Just wonderful! In addition to all of the phals which are sending spikes up like crazy, I am very excited about some different species and seedlings that have their first earned spikes.

    Darwinara Charm 'White Star'
Aerangis articulata (couple of spikes --well okay they are little spike nubs at the moment, but I am still excited)
Cym. Beverly Cobb "Shiney Yellow" -- the old leave the plant outside when the temperature drops into the 40s trick worked like a charm

    AND
All three of the vandas I got in August are sending up new spikes! I am so pleased. I thought they would struggle until I got the greenhouse, but apparently they are happy enough, even in my current house.

Fantastic, can't wait to see the open blooms! Isn't it ever so exciting to see all the nubs and buds... every time, even the old regulars still bring out the quick skip of the heart! aaaah... this is what it's all about

I couldn't agree more with all three of you! Seeing those little spike nubs or buds developing is really exciting! Give it a couple of weeks and so many things will be blooming --makes all that schlepping them to the sink twice a week all summer seem worthwhile.
