Sick plant through the mail??
I have been on here long enough to hear some stories and until now I've never sent a plant back. But, there is always a first time. I am sharing because I want our newer members to know what to do when you get a plant that has bad roots, or just goes completely black rot in only a couple weeks or has something really wrong with it when it arrives. DISPUTE DISPUTE DISPUTE! How? #1 Take pictures of all plants that come by mail AS SOON as it arrives, preferably with the container it came in if damaged in any way or if it looks suspicious for any reason. #2 Email the company as soon as you realize there is a problem and describe completely the problem and include photos #4 Don't just go away, be the squeaky wheel, or they'll just ignore you #5 When all else fails, write a dispute letter, enclose pic's of the plant when it arrived and return the sicko as soon as possible before it kills your other plants!!!
Sigh, I learned this the hard way....and to the tune of a few hundred dollars because of an ebay seller that is well known and warned about on here...be careful of online sites not highly recommended by other orchid collectors. As with many little things with orchids, this is one you learn painfully fast.
Hope this helps...
Connie

Oh - that guy. He is the pits. I can't believe he is still in business.
If any newbies want to know who we are referring to, PM me.

Yeah, I know the guy too. I made the mistake of ordering one plant from him about 3 years ago. When I got them plant I knew what he was doing--buying dessicated plants from Taiwan that were so dried out and treated with chemicals that they were almost impossible to save. A rootless catt for $15 plus shipping, I don't think so!
I really don't see how he gets as much positive feedback as he has.

From what I have heard if you leave him a well earned neg. he does the same about you even tho you are not the problem. I have heard it termed as held hostage by the feed back . Gin

I believe there is a piece of software that enables the vendor to increase his or her seller rating and therefore their decent feedback. Of course these sales are phantoms. Or he could just have multiple id's, bidding against you and pushing the price up. If he wins the item he will give himself good feedback and re submit the item for sale. I personally don't buy off that site since I learned of these scams.

Yup...and his business initials are R.O.C. He sucks you in with one or two good plants and then whammo the next order is all crap. I agree, I would love to know how he is still online. I am glad to have others that can warn our newbies about this guy. He has played games. I have submitted pictures over and over and his people swear they have no idea what I'm talking about. lol S'okay, he's getting the dead thing back. If I wasn't worried about some innocent person touching the box and infecting their own plants I'd find someone with root rot and rub it all over the box. Send him a little time bomb to kill his plants. See how he likes it. Ahem....sorry, I'm just steamed at this guy. I can't afford this kind of stuff. Yeeshka!

He is an unscrupulous vulture. He tried starting up under another name, that apparently got squashed by their security.
