I know this "looks like" a ladybug but is it a ladybug or just "a-wanna'be"? And if he/she is crawling around in the GH, could it be good or bad?
Every winter these guys come into my home...we're talking snow, wind and sub-zero weather and they are everywhere!!!!!!

Asian ladybug. Not harmful to your plants but harmful to native ladybugs.

If I brought ladybugs in with the plants my husband would freak. He's a city boy. You should see him when the gecko's or frogs go hopping about. lol

I think its very pretty though it is invasive. I don't see them in Canada, maybe they die in the winter cold here

why is he all dusty? i hear they bite too. the only bad things i've heard about them and native lady bugs is that they compete for resources, are there other problems?
i love the winter die off in canada, not just because it keeps away 'invaders' but because it seems to keep the native creepy crawlies small too. i'm on another forum where there's a lot of people from australia and they're always showing pictures of the massive bugs from there (i don't know why i keep looking...) one time someone posted a picture of a spider eating a bird!

That's funny! I've never heard of someone being afraid of ladybugs--asian or otherwise.

Bikerdoc--well they are resiliant little buggers it seems!
