If the plant has lost all its roots due to root rot, I would recommend the following:
    1. Cut away all the dead roots.
    2. Repot the plant into new potting mix.
    3. Place the plant in a shaded area with moderate humidity.
    4. Do not water the plant until you see new roots growing. You can mist the leaves every now and then too cool it down, but it will not make use of any water inside the pot.

When I have plants with no roots I tend to keep them under a bench, where it's shaded. Then I place it on a shallow bed of spag. and leave them alone. Only checking occasionnally to make sure the spag is moist from time to time. You can make a paste of rooting hormone and place on the rhizome where roots will grow from as well. You should see root growth or a new p-bulb in about a month or so. Sometimes they'll grow new stuff...sometimes they don't. Others here use the 'spag and bag' method. A quick search should give directions on that method....

Yep, I usually do what johb said above- don't be tempted 2 water them! They need time and dryness.
