Default White Fuzz on Orchid Pot

I've seen pics and mention of different buildup on pots. I know white buildup can be a couple different things. What would be the cause for white fuzz on a pot?

Usually it's fertilizer buildup, but could also be a fungus. Can you post a pic of it?

Sometimes white fuzz is mold - increase your air circulation with a small fan and that should take care of it.

is the white fuzz soft or brittle? Soft would most likely be a fungus or mold , brittle would be salt crystals from fertilizer

Sorry I won't be able to get a picture of it today. I should know by now to have a pic for these question
It's soft. It's only on the one pot near the bottom.

I would guess that is is mold then. Wipe it away and increase air movement as Becky suggested. If you can, post a photo just so we can be sure and for future readers.

    Yes it looks like those.
It was on the outside of my Dend pot.
Over the weekend I checked on my Phal and the medium was still pretty moist even though it's been days since it was last watered. When I pulled some of it apart that white stuff was all over what little roots that plant has left and on some of the medium. The temperature dipped down recently so I didn't run the fan. In just a couple days that happened. Lesson learned to keep air circulation no matter what.
I dumped out the sphag/bark mixture, cleaned the pot and soaked the plant with a physan mixture.

That is very common, I'm a huge fan of fans, lolol...

Next time, unless the mold was really pervasive, you could really just leave the plant alone...the air movement would have taken care of the mold in about a day or two, with no lasting harm to the plants. Best not to disturb the plants, as now they will need to recover from the shock of being unpotted and chemically treated...

Ok, I'll remember that for next time. And yes I'm sure there will be a next time.
