    Default Ring on orchid pseudobulb

Is it normal for some pblubs to have a ring on them? A couple on my encyclia's have a thin line that goes all around the pbulb. Like a dark crease. This isn't something that just happened. The plants had them when I got them. But since I'm recently having problems with these 2 I thought I would ask.

I don't grow Encyclias, but a photo showing the rings would be helpful to the Encyclia gurus here.

I really don't have any good pics of the rings. The one that woulda been the best I had tossed the pbulb since it was rotting. On that one the black line was not showing any trouble & was on a pbulb that was healthy and a nice solid green. Then suddenly it started to yellow along the line and eventually rot.

I searched all my pictures and the only one I can find where you can kinda see what I'm talking about it is on this bad picture of a dying pbulb.

But you can see toward the right a thin black line.

That looks like constriction scarring from when the pseudobulb was young.
Is it happening on all the pseudobulbs?

It's on a few of them. No new ones since I've had them.
