    Default dendrobium yellowing leaves.

hey guys, i have another problem...

the dendrobium that i got a few weeks ago had a few leaves yellow and fall out.

when i got the plant, it has about 5-6 canes. 2 of them have leaves. the smaller cane had 3 and the newest/biggest cane had 8 leaves. the problem started like last week when 2 of the 3 leaves yellowed and fell. it didnt dry out, it just yellowed and fell. 3 days ago, the 4th leaf from the bottom in the largest cane yellowed and a day after it dropped. and now the 5th leaf is starting to yellow.

is it normal for middle dendrobium leaves to fall out? the medium is coconut hust and charcoal in clay pot with holes. it is also as of the moment flowering, 3 are still buds. do i need to repot?

    thank you guys!

Do you know the species? A picture would also help. Some Dendrobiums are deciduous and naturally lose their leaves. How do the pseudobulbs look?

sunburn would have been my guess as well. sometimes leaves just fall off, maybe it needed all the energy for the spike, not much you can do about it.
if the roots are healthy, nothing to worry about, just put her in bright shade and slowly increase the light level, if needed.

    thanks for the reply guys.

it really doesnt get direct sun. its inside the house by the window. and the window doesnt really get sun. i can say its between shade and bright shade.

can this happen when the plant is not getting enough sun though?

hopefully its just putting all its energy on the spike... thanks guys...

    Guys:

What, if not the sunlight, could be the problem? I have had the same experience and the plant was not over exposed to light. In a few cases, the plant didn't recover. I'm still stumped .

I had forgotten to ask about the temperature. You can have the same result if temp is too high, although plant isn't in direct sunlight. Assuming humidity is okay, can you improve air movement around the plant? I know you said the plant is by a window but some persons' windows are not always open for very long and believe it or not the type of glass in the window can make a difference.
