    Default phal leaf problem

I picked up a phal at a local store about a month ago. Liked the flowers and the price was right. When I got it home and unpacked it, there was some bud drop because it was cold in the car coming home. However, almost all the leaves were also damaged along the veins. I've not really seen this kind of a problem before. While it looks like insect damage because inside portions of the leaves seem to be gone, I also wonder whether it could be some kind of cultural problem. The flowers are fine, the budstalk has started to branch at three nodes. The roots look OK but not great.

    Anyone recognize this?

For me, it´s a sun burn! Just some parts of the leaf have been affected.
I had some with this problem, just put they inside my house and the problem has gone!

Probably sunburn. Outside chance it's water damage.

It tends to be along the vein on every leaf, which seems an odd pattern to me for sunburn. It did come from CA, however.

something is causing cellular collapse. Sunburn is a big possibility.

I agree with above-sun burn. I have a Phal that got too warm last summer and burned like that. Technically it was heat rather than sun burn since it wasn't caused by sun exposure.

I'm glad the consensus is that the damage is from heat or sun, since that means that new growth won't have that problem. Thanks everyone!!

the leaf may have been wet and placed too close to your lights which can cause the burn
