I mist my inside orchids twice a day, even the Phals. If you are afraid of crown rot, spray the very center with alcohol...it will dry up the water, in the very center. Close to the inside orchids, I keep an ordinary (cheap )small spray bottle for alcohol and another larger one for water. If you do get crown rot, carefully cut the rotten part off, spray the cut with alcohol, and then dust with plant sulphur powder. Works for me & my orchids! Betty :-)

P.S. I use the ORGINAL 409, because in my opinion, if it isn't broke, don't try to fix it...Betty:-)

Wow Betty you are very informative and helpful...how inspiring! I will try the alcohol spray in the very center of the crown. I AM afraid of crown rot..I've had it happen before because I was even MORE clueless than I am now. I've learned alot since then, and now try to avoid rot like the plague. Thanks for the tips, they won't go to waste.

Desiree, if you are THAT afraid of crown rot, just make sure that AFTER you spray your Phals., you q-tip the water out of the very center...then lightly mist with alcohol...Betty :-)
