    Question Mushroom in Catt. Basket?

    I found a small brown mushroom growing out of a hanging basket.I tried to remove as much of it as I could.Do I need to worry about this? Just wondering.Thanks,Rich

    No worries, Rich. Most likely it is because the medium is starting to breakdown. The mushroom will not hurt anything.

    Just like Bruce said, the mushroom itself would not harm the orchid.
    But it is an indication that the potting medium is retaining too much moisture.
    You might need to cut down on watering that basket. If you can grow mushrooms in that basket, thats too much water for a catt
