Default OK whats been chewing on my orchid leaves?

Only one phal NOID is affected so far. I've used imidacloprid on it and that seems to have stopped the little buggers, haven't seen any insects but sure would like to know what is causing the serration of the leaves. The rest of the plant is healthy Anyone have any ideas???????

I have a couple orchid types with serated edges...phals and catt. intermedia. I always thought they look cool like that. lol I never thought there was anything bad about it though...is this a problem?

I think it's an insect Connie, but I'm not sure. That's why I posted it, maybe someone has more insight than I do.

Could be a small grasshopper? Something is chewing the edges and I am going to guess it is not a large critter. Treat with an insecticide and keep an eye on it. That should do it if it is a grasshopper or the like.

    Cheers,
    BD

Mary, I have seen many Cuban Brown Anoles and Green Anoles on my plants. I always called these cute little guys geckos also. Someone here corrected me on a photo that I did post, with the correct name. I did a search and these little guys only eat bugs. So I don't think that they are causing any harm, they may be eating something on or near your plants. I'm not a expert by any means !! Take Care,Rich

Hey Rich, thanks for the heads up on the anoles. I'm gonna look them up and see what I can find. I'm always curious about the critters that share their space with me.

Looks EXACTLY like grasshopper bites to me...and I've had those nasty critters eat on my orchids before. They are good at hiding, so use an insect spray on BOTH sides of the leaves, plus, I spray the media too. Just my opinion...Betty :-)
