Default Bent flower stalk on SLC. Purple jewel

Two questions really. The flower stalk appeared fine until two days prior to blooming and then did a 90 degree turn. (Photo included)
Also, the flower has a white line in the petal.
I have already ruled out cats, kids, wife, dog and midnite ninja attack. Can anyone explain what is going on with this SLC?

Craig, it obviously is a ninja attack !!! LOL ! To me the bend doesn`t seem problematic, it can happen, due to the swelling of the ovary also due to weight of the flower. What concerns me slightly is the streak of white on one of the petals. It could be the beginning of color break virus infection, but it can happen also due to environmental factors and certain fertilizers. Keep a close watch on its next blooms, if this streaking intensifies, then it is bad news.

Beautiful bloom you have there!! I am not a huge expert on orchid growing yet......but my guess would be that the bloom was too heavy for the spike. I would try to give the plant some support, those blooms can be heavy.

Seems likely, I agree. Hopefully it is not a virus but like Amey noted some environmental factor or chemical. Really pretty orchid bloom though.
