Unhappy Centipede in my Paph orchid ...eek!

Going about my business this morning and watering all my plants, I was startled by a creepy crawly! A tan colored what looks like a "house centipede" has taken up residence in one of my Paphs. I don't know how it got in here seeing as I keep all my orchids indoors and in an office no less. Is it harmful to my plants? I tried to catch/kill it but it's really fast and centipedes are one of the few creepies that really get to me. Help!

Your plants are safe Ali, centipedes are carnivorous. If you do have any pests, it will make short work of them.

Well that's good to know. Maybe it will get rid of the fungus gnats!

When it gets bigger than your hand, call an exterminator.

What will you bring in to take care of the centipede? It reminds me of the old song, "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly..."

Oh, I don't like those things, either, not at all. I always shout for the spouse just as the spouse shouts to have me put the spiders outside.
So, what do you plan to do with it?

Since I haven't seen him again I'm just going to live and let live. If he comes crawling on my desk I'm definitely getting someone in the office to take care of it!!

Hah! I am the one in my office area who gets to "take care of" the wee fauna that finds itself in our building. What's funny, is that I typically capture it to take it outside, and, when taking it outside, I get cries of disbelief that I'm not killing it!
