    Default Aphids on orchids ??

    Hi everyone,

I know what aphids look like on roses but what about orchids? On my Smithsonian Rare Treasure (phal), there are little tiny white things by the buds and on the stems of the buds. They appear to be fuzzy. I know they can't be good, so I wet a paper towel and have tried removing them.

I read some earlier posts about spraying water, rubbing alcohol, etc... I am not really sure what to do. Remember I'm a newbie

    Thanks,

By your description, these are Mealy Bugs-they look like tiny white Chitons with cotton wool around them. Use a cottonbud and some ethanol/alcohol to remove them. I find if there is any of that cotton wool stuff left, they find their way back.

Thanks for the info. I kept checking them yesterday and saw one or two and removed them with my fingers. I will go over the plant today, whether I see them or not.

    Again thanks,
