    Susie, if it's fertilizer salts, you'll want to rinse them out. Just run water over through the pot copiously to make sure all the excess fertilizer gets rinsed away from the roots and the medium. Then, of course, you won't need to water for a little while, but the excess fertilizer can hurt the plant if it stays.

    You've got some great-looking roots on that beauty - hope everything goes well!

    Thanks for all of the info guys. I can say for certain that I do not have mealy bugs . It was just some mold from being too wet. I have since dusted with cinnamon and cut all of the effected areas on the roots that looked ruined and I am happy to say that -touch wood-all is well.
