Default Yikes - SOS for a friend's plant!

A friend recieved a phal last fall from her son that was doing so well (ie, blooming and not dying) that for Christmas he got her an oncydium. Both are NOID.

Both recently finished blooming and she begged me to check them out. I tossed off the potting mixture and found the phal roots pretty healthy and the onc roots pretty wet. I haven't gotten to repotting them as quickly as I should have (bare root for a week), but have watered the bare roots daily with a damp paper towel over them. I figured a bit of a dry rest wouldn't hurt too much.

The onc has been shedding leaves in the last couple of days, but it's stepping up and few are left. Green, otherwise fine looking leaves are simlply dropping off just above in the pb's. The pb's are mushy this evening (I was hell-bent on repotting them tonight, but now I think I have an onc problem.)

    Any thoughts? (I'm doomed...)

Oh it sounds like rot if the bulbs are squishy .. It probably started from the roots being to wet when it was potted . About all you can do it keep it dry and see if the bulbs firm up .If there are a number of bulbs the bad ones can be removed and the cuts sealed . If it is systemic then ... Good to see ya ! Gin

Dang! Killing it while doing a favor... A quick trip to a nearby greenhouse is in order. Have to find one with similar foliage...

Good to swoop in, Gin - thanks! My knees are pretty much back to normal so life is full speed ahead and I haven't had much time to read posts. I have some pics I need to post when I find some free time.
