    Flame cutting tool to a glowing red / white heat , let cool a bit and cut, the heat from the tool will help seal it . I use a box cutter and throw it out after . Sorry about the trouble . Gin

    I used alcohol a few times in the past (when there is nothing else to use, not even cinnamon) to treat a cut area on leaves. Wet a piece of cotton and dab it on the cut area. And remember to keep water away from wound until its healed and dry.
