    Default My favorite laelia :(

It has been such a beautiful day...I was so excited to get home from work to do some watering and this is what I found on my Santa Barbara Sunset. I almost cried.

Jason so sorry to your plant I know how do you feel so frustrated it's already happen what you need to do now just cut the affected side and cover the raw area with some fungicide. Again check other plants too.

FUNGUS? The second I saw these spots, the V-word sprang to mind. Granted, I'm not any sort of an expert. I'd be thrilled to find a fungus instead! I thought the concentric rings were almost a definitive symptom of virus. Either way, it's been sequestered to an area away from the others.Posted via Mobile Device

May be or may be not, only a test can tell for sure, but true such rings usually manifest when there is a V infection.

Bad news indeed: are these concentric rings on all leaves only one?

This plant has such a lovely bloom. All lovely blooms that win high awards get cloned many times. I've read that ups the ante on virus. I hope not in your case.

They are on both leaves of the newest matured growth. Top and bottom of each. But none are visible opposite side of any spots. Posted via Mobile Device

I read that first when I was looking for one of these particular plants. I couldn't afford to spend the money on a division from the hybridizers, and despite being warned that this clone has a VERY high incidence of virus, I went the cheap route. Silly me! I'll save my money to replace it for sure with a division of the original awarded plant!Posted via Mobile Device
