    Unhappy orthene on paphs

I have a mealybug infestation and I just wondered if anyone has ever used orhene on their paphs. I've tried malathion, neem oil, and rubbing alcohol, but nothing has worked yet. The neem oil just seems to discolor the leaves and the alcohol will damage a plant if you let it sit in the crooks of leaves. Please help!!!

Hi , I have used the Orthene wettable powder on Paphs. drenched the roots , it has to be done 3 times at weekly intervals , Also I spray the top of the plant with Safers to kill what is on the leaves . The Orthene WP. is a systemic and takes awhile to enter the plants system . It is not a contact poision . It does not have the petrolium products in it that can burn . It is important to do the Orthene 3 times to kill any that hatch out or they will be right back . I mix it in a gal jug and shake then put into a container the plant will fit into and pour it through making sure it is drenched . If you want the name of where I bought my Orthene PM. me . Gin

The only way to be sure you kill mealies is to use Enstar II.

ditto to the enstar. very expensive but if you have a small collection, and apply it two or three times, it is highly effective on scale and mealies. PM me for a source if you decide on the 'star.

Expense is why I did not suggest Enstar . Gin
