Default Need advice on my Burr. "Stefen Isler"

I bought this orchid a month or two ago, very pretty orange and red flowers. I removed a lot of extra sphagnum moss packing around the plant to give it air and noticed the back p-bulbs were discolored. Their texture was ok, so have been keeping an eye on it. A couple of days ago, the back leaves started to turn yellow, so I took it out of its pot and saw it had mold on the back bulbs!

I did emergency surgery, cut it down to the one clean healthy bulb that was the newest growth and sprayed it all with fungicide. It has a few roots about 1" - 2" long and two fat buds starting to grow. The only rooting stuff I have on hand is rooting hormone I use for starting cuttings, would that help it?

What is the best way to keep it alive until it recovers? Right now its sitting in an open pot with a bit of damp sphagnum moss on it for humidity - it tends to be hot and dry here. Its away from the windows to rest. I really like this plant and hope to save it.

The rooting hormone should be fine. Keep the humidity up since it is so dry where you live.

    cheers,
