Great advice all around... and I agree that it may be overpotted. When you remove it from the pot, cut off any roots that are dead (not firm). Make sure you have the rhizome exposed and the potting media pressed very firmly around the roots. If it wiggles at all put a stake into the pot and tie the plant to it. Good luck with your plant. It is possible that repotting could initiate new growth.
