Default Cattleya Orchid Flower Brown and Crispy Edges

    Hi everyone!

I'm a new member and would love some help--I haven't found an answer to this anywhere: I have my first Cattleya orchid after having phals for years and am concerned about some brown and crispy edges around the rim of the flowers. The flowers have been in bloom for several weeks, so I feel like (based on what I have read) they may be nearing the end of their life cycle. That said I'm concerned that this browning might be indicative of a larger issue? Is this what the flowers look like at the end of their life cycle or am I doing something wrong? I super appreciate any help!

    Hello and welcome!

It might be just flower is done flowering. Some catts flowers last for few weeks, some for 4 weeks. You have to know parentage sometimes to be sure for how long it will bloom.

If you do not see any pest on flower than it probably just time for it to dry.

Thank you everyone! I am so glad that my plant is still healthy and I was being an over-worried new catt grower!
