Default NOID Catt with distorted flowers..

The growth that produced this bloom took a long time to decide what it wanted to be. A second leaf on a unifoliate plant or a sheath. One side of the sheath looked like it should and the other looked like a leaf. A few days ago I saw one of the flowers opening inside the growth so trimmed it all away. The flowers have opened but the shape is yuck!! Is the problem a matter of breeding or can it be prevented, as in, what did I do?!!

This may just be a case of a weak spike caught in the sheath, and mangled flowers resulting from that. Not necessarily any fault to you. If the plant grows well I'd wait and see how it does next time.

I think you know I would be quite happy with that bloom. Love the color!

Hope so! Has two more sheaths that look normal (not like a leaf) with buds so we shall see.

I think I have another that is doing the same thing. I'll try to find it and post a pic.

Last flower on this plant. It's better but still has some creases. Hopefully next year will be better.

    Picky-picky!

And I thought the same thing that Kirk expressed----denial!

The last person I said something like that to here, seemed to disappear and has only sporadically reappeared.

Love the intensity of the color. Sure it would do great next season.
