The one you've been watering with ice cubes - yes, it should be watered at the sink with room temperature water, but be sure it dries out again before you water again. If its potted in sphagnum moss, it will be much happier in bark, even though it will be stressed by moving it. Many Phals are sold in a tight wad of moss that can easily rot the roots. The roots need air as well as moisture to thrive! And when they grow, they grow adjusted to the media they are growing in and will be stressed when you re-pot.

Get some kelp based root stimulater and do treat them with that (a good soak) when you re-pot. That will start them putting out new roots which will be adjusted to the new media.

Welcome here Sheila. I agree with everyone's advice. I find that my phals do better in a mix of bark and moss but the bark should work for you as long as you water when they are dry.
