I'm doing that Chris. Darn things are soooo small though. I usually find them by following those shiny slime trails

Yes they are tiny, but one does a lot of damage in a short time.

When I read this, I thought, what a good idea. Copper coins are such a nusance, anyway. So many thing are priced at a figure ending in 99p , amd I keep getting 1 p as change. But I cant thinkof anything I might buy less than say 50p, and the coins wear out my pockets. The banks won't take them without pulling a face either !

But then I realised that copper is poisonous. A one or two molecule thick layer on the compost is one thing. That does not touch the plants, but would affect the snails which drag their stomachs over it. Adding coins to the compost would get the copper too near the roots, in too great a concentration .

    But nice try....

Canada did away with the penny 3-4 years ago. Now I find the 5 cent to be the annoying change in the pocket. Paper 1$ and 2$ bills have been gone for years and the 5$ bill is supposed to be gone soon. I have noticed my right pants pocket wears out the fastest now. Those big coins can get heavy
