If I ever find this 'Grower Ron,' I'm gonna choke the life out of him.... There's also an alphanumeric tag on the stake. is that helpful? haha if we've gotta go on like this, every plant I have a stake for is most likely going to need re-ID. And here I've been trying to avoid the NOIDs...

    Onc. Summer Wind 'Paris'

When I bought it the flowers were all dried up, but they're maroon and white, and there are about 100 on a branching spike. haha everyone here has probably done the BOX STORE half-off-rack dried-up plant flower hunt, trying to decide if ten bucks is really worth it, and how interesting those flowers might be. What we really need is full genetic sequencing for each hybrid/cultivar, and a universal barcode system. Everyone just get the readers for your PC, and off we go, no more questions. Ah, I'm an amateur, no worries. Peace all... Wonderful weekend.

The box stores and grocery stores buy from huge growers. The numbering on the tag is probably the grower's inventory ID. It doesn't tell us anything.

I am amazed that you have such a specific tag. I'd treat it as the plant's ID, even if it's not in the AOS database. It sounds very pretty - 100 is a lot! Post a picture if you can.

Ahh - no worries! A couple of my favorites are noids that I got because I just loved the way they looked. I see, I like, I buy! The mystery doesn't bother me...
