Den Spike Dried

    I agree with the change in env., it could affect the spike formation like drying it out. But how do you explain, some of my dens all in the same growing area, half with spikes will reach maturity/bloom, the other half, the spikes would get dried out when they're around 1/8in. The env. was not disturbed in any way when they spiked and some still didn't make it. This is one of my biggest frustration. Could it be that I'm not giving the plant enough water when it was developing a spike ???

    Hi , That could be the problem if they are not all in the same type mix and some are drying faster than others .
    Other things that will cause problems is a gas leak .. stove or ? , ripening fruit close to the plants , mites , thrips , or other nasties, seems strange that all are in the same area and some bloom and some flake out . Gin

    it could also be hereaditory.Dendrobs can abort the flower formation at anytime
