That's a real genetic mess you have there. That's not a "real" keiki, it would have multiple leaves and look like a mini plant. I'd say compost pile.

Any comments on this one? Looks like it's in much better shape than my genetic mess, the bloom stalk that I cut off was coming out of the normal place....but leaves wrinkled. Not enough water? Not enough light? *shrug*

    Thanks!

At some point it has not gotten enough water. Check the roots, if they are okay then it will just take patient care on your part to bring the plant back to health. Don't overwater, but be sure the plant never dries out completely. the leaves should plump back up. (also check for critters...)

If the roots are bad, cut off the bad ones, even if that means all of them, and try the sphag and bag routine. And give it some rooting hormone.

Roots don't look good actually---there is one that is solid and has some green on it, but the rest are a wreck. Will cut them off.....

Do I soak the sphag first? Zip lock bag ok? Light, same?

    Thanks!

Hi , What I have done is soak the Spag. squeeze out the excess water and pot it in a pot as small as possible , place in a shaded area with humidity . Be careful of keeping it to wet just moist .
I have not had any luck with the Spag. and bag if it is sealed up no air , rot or mold is the problem . You could pot it and put a plastic tent over it . Just be sure it gets air .
Diane might be able to help more regarding the Spag. and Bag . Good Luck with it . Gin

Can we send all our wrinkles to the compost pile? I have a few (note: a FEW) to contribute.
Diane, how was your visit with "Orchid-Daddy" last weekend??? Details! We want details! Meet us at the Outback Terrace Bar; I'm buying!
