A lot of leaf damage, for whatever cause, can lead to opportunistic fungal attacks. When I have any cell collapse, leaf breaks or cuts, or suspicious browning, I spray with a fungicide. I use Physan 20. I spray those guys ASAP, and hope nothing progresses. When a fungus gets serious, it spreads through a leaf really quickly - in a day. Just keep an eye on it.

It's important as the weather turns colder to water earlier in the day with enough time for foliage to dry before evening.

    Hope this helps!

Ok, thanks! i've been wattering around noon, but i leave the humidifier on all day...i've been thinking i'll probibally need a space heater, too, but it really hasn't gotten that cold here yet..

i'll go try to find some fungicide tomorrow!

Ok, well, i'm finally on my way out the door to try to find some fungicide (there are no real orchid greenhouses around here, most of them pretty much suck for what i want), so fingers crossed.

can anyone tell me why this is happening, if it isn't fungus or disease or bugs? you guys don't seem to think it is a big deal, but it looks really bad...how can i avoid this?

Also you can get Physan - you can order it and have it sent if you cant find it locally. PM me if you need to get the name of a vendor.

i have "safer" brand garden fertalizer, "for organic growing"...its what i picked up off the shelf, i don't really know much about it.

i used it once, after the last posts, it smells like all hell, but i'm not sure how much it helped. i'll try to find one of those brands, if i can't around here, i'll order it.

    thanks again
