Why I have indoor orchids
This is disgusting, my poor fuschia. I have been spraying this plant with everything on the shelf and nothing will get rid of the aphids for good. I'm surprised the plant is still flowering at all.

Poor fuscia!
Oh, that is a sad sight Traci! I love fuscia but have to resist my yearly urges to buy them. I just have way too much sun for them.
I hate aphids! I actually did not get nasturtiums this year because they are such aphid-magnets and I didn't want to risk them 'finding' any of my indoor plants! nefarious little things.

Every year I buy ladybugs. They do a good job on keeping the aphids at bay in my yard.

Sevin dust works wonders here--you just have to remember to apply it regularly, especially after a hard rain. (We use it on the outdoor plants, the dogs....
--me...)

The front pourch is the only place that doesn't get full sun. I'm sure the flowers would last longer if the sun wasn't beating on the plants by 3pm. Oh well, I'll choose different hanging plants next season.

I always have about 3-4 ladybugs inside my house, but never outside where I need them. Last year, I must have had 10 in the house in one day.

LOL you are to funny.
I'll have to look for that. Hey L, I bought some Alaskan Fish Emulsion (deoderized to boot) today. It was at Lowes for $5.67. Go buy lots of it.

Traci, I do really well with lantana and verbena and the hummingbirds LOVE it...almost as much as the fuschia. Still, I eye and contemplate the fuschia every year like clockwork! Sigh...On the bright (haha, no pun intended) side, w/out all my sun I couldn't grow the orchids, now could I?
