    Default Time for the chipper/shredder

This nobile-type den is REALLY ticking me off. It is a hybrid [too lazy at the moment to go get the tag] that doesn't require any real cool down to stimulate bud formation. It blooms effortlessly for the buddy of mine who gave it to me though never very floriferously for him. Once or twice every year it tries to bloom. And each year it gets to this stage:

& as the stupid buds break sheath, they turn black & die. I don't fertilize during this period so it can't be fertilizer burn [though he fertilizes his on his regular orchid schedule with nary a problem]. This time there is no fan in the room [it died] but air circulation can't be the problem because:

    1) it did the same thing when there was a fan running 24/7; and
    2) it did the same thing when I had it outside over the summer at my old apt a few years back.

It's been getting RO water this time around so again can't blame that. Haven't seen any bugs, either.

No bugs? well, I saw some spider mite on the first cane on the right just below the dead shealth, and another spot located on the lower center cane. I had Denderobiums before and I know what spidermite look like on them. If I'm not wrong, you'll probably see the little orange/white/red dust on those spots and you can wipe them off easily. Those are mites
