Exclamation Pseudobulbs looking wrinkled on the outside?? Help!!

    Hi all!

I was inspecting my new oncidium mini tonight when I noticed that the psuedobulbs look rather odd. I just watered the plant this morning, but instead of looking plump and fleshy, they look a little wrinkly and have a funny crinkled pattern on the outside of them.

Do you think I've overwatered? Underwatered? Should I repot it? Its in a strange bark/perlite mix that I bought it in- what do you think?

I suppose it could also be cold damage; but it wasn't that cold when I brought it home, and it was wrapped well. I thought it could be cold damage because almost all the blooms have shrivled and died since I brought it home on Saturday afternoon...Help!!

    ~Rebecca

take a breathe...the plant looks like it is ok
I would unpot it and check out it's roots first. You said you just watered it and it is still wrinkly so I'm guessing there is a problem with the uptake of water

I wouldn't worry either...however I would still take Smartie's advice and repot. I try to repot after bringing new stuff home now no matter what. I've lost a plant from not doing it because the roots were in terrible shape even if the mix looked fine from the top. Sometimes it is badly broken down in the bottom of the pot...if it's like that the roots rot away and...then you have a more complicated situation.

Thank you- I'll definitely repot it! Sounds like a good plan- I'm just glad to know its not too big of a deal :-)
