(By the way, current studies indicate the prevailing knowledge that the adult brain does not produce new neurons may be wrong. Recent research has suggested that important forebrain regions continue to receive new nerve cells into adulthood in humans. Either way, you may be growing more brain cells, but we know better how to use them!!)

Keep up the good work - stay in school - keep learning. Life has so much to offer, and you make our life better every day. Thanks for all you do for us.

...I ordered the book and will read it as soon as I'm finished with the one I'm reading now.
hehe seems that i may be wrong then! hehe!
for the record, i am more intelligent than most teens-i dont go to booze parties every weekend like some of my mates do and get drunk, infact i hardly ever drink and when i do its like a glass of wine (the best in my opinion-i need to bottle my homebrew too!), i dont drive (much) but when i do im sensible, and i never ever touch drugs! eww!

and yea, i would stay in school, but the orchids are calling! I have been offered work at a 4acre cymbidium greenhouse block for a year, on really good pay too!

And yup, the book is great! im reading it again before i need to take it back to school!

ok its official! This from mum:

Mum says that they are both very proud of me, and that the amount of orchids i bring home no longer bothers them, because they know that no matter what they say to me, it never sticks! They are resigned to the fact it is a serious disease that cannot be cured!

Without getting to verbose Jordan, it seems to me that the older I get the more I realize how little I know and that the accumulation of Knowledge is not just a matter of intelligence or aptitude, but of learning the patience to persevere in finding as best you can the truth no matter what the subject at hand. It is a complex, ever changing, fascinating world out there. The more I live the more I realize that beyond self interest anything is possible and even if I don't live long enough to see it, everything turns out for the better in the long haul. AL

That is so true....its like my Grandma said when i tried Bonsai before i got into orchids-you can read as many books as you want, but until you can successfully train one of these bon bon thingies, you wont do it right. Its called PERSEVERANCE-and i persevered, gave up on books on the subject, and i successfully trained a small Metrosoideros/Pohutakawa, after 4 years of trying hehe i did it! then i killed it.... :/
