Thank you Bruce. I totally agree that this is important!!
Carrie and Rosalia,
Welcome to day two.
Just remember. One hour at a time. Hey, even 1/2 hour if need be. No matter what, you can make it through the short periods, so don't even think about the long run.
Keep some hard candy in the house and use it as you need to. I used chewing gum, but I suspect the candy is a better idea.
And find something to keep your mind and hands occupied. Boredom is the enemy!!
Talk to and tend to your orchids. Just think how much healthier and happier they're going to be, without the threat of some tobacco bourne virus. See, health benefits all around.
We're all with you on your journey, so just holler out if you need some cheering on.
OH MY WORD! Look at you all your amazing! I was feeling rather glum this morning, hankering after a smoke thinking why am I doing this, then I get an email off Anne asking me to check the forum and WOW I come and find masses of support and help and a fellow quit buddy. Come on Rosalia we can do this cant we now!! with this much support we have to do it !!
Greengo, sorry I hadnt noticed you asking about champix, without going into boring details I cant have it as I have a history of Mental health troubles and it can trigger problems in people, it was one avenue I looked into last time I quit. I do believe it works well in those that can have it, thanks for the suggestion though, it would have been a good plan if I could have it.
Hey Carrie I just saw this thread and wanted to say that you have my support too. You will feel so much better and healthier if you can get past this.
After watching a family member pass away from oat cell carcinoma I can't stress enough to my other family and friends who smoke how quickly you can lose someone who is diagnosed with lung cancer. I know when my father quit smoking many many years ago he would put a toothpick in the corner of his mouth and for some reason that seemed to help his cravings. Maybe you could try that...the cinnamon ones are really tasty.
Best of luck to you...just remember...this too shall pass. You can do this!
YEA! TWO DAYS! You can both do it!!! There is some very good advice offered from many who know. You gotta WANT to and you DO! There's half the battle. Good luck we are pulling for you. Anyone else want to join Carrie and Rosalie? YES!! Good job so far; we are all pulling for you.
thanks anne, tmai and everybody.
carrie, today I began with that. I smoked 5 cigarets to less.
I stopped smoking already before and remembered what help much is to change the routine. The habits are always very much taken root in the small daily gestures.... I am firm. thanks y'all
