HI all, been thinking about you. This thread made me get back on the treadmill and get out and exercise more. How are you all doing? Carrie and Rosalia and Bill, are you still not smoking? I hope to hear so! Anne? How is the weight loss? You all are an inspiration to me. In addition a close friend is now one month cig free. Please let us know you are doing well. We all are pulling for you!

Hi Carrie! I can only send my support to you, becouse I know how you feel! I smoked for ten years, and I stoped 5 months ago! I also had astma when I was a child, and everybody told me that my smoking is very dangerous , becouse of my condition..
And then this summer, I heard some bad news about my helth, and I quit smoking in a day, and that is the only way, really...And I loved to smoke...still do...right now, as I was drinking coffee, I was thinking about how I would love to light one up..But NOTHING is more important then you health! I`m 29, and have a life in front of me, but believe me, even a day more spent with those you love is worth quiting that habit! Becouse that`s what it is, just a bad habit! Sending my support & love to you! YOU CAN DO IT!

Thanks so much Dana, I sorta fell off the wagon and have been working on my weight, once I get that under control the smoking will be attacked again, I have so many health problems all made worse by my lifestyle both eating and smoking, all I can say is thank the Lord I am not a drinker too! Anne got me on my diet plan and I am doing well so far, I just hope I dont need such a scare as you had to finally knock some sense in me to stop me smoking. The support off people here is unbelievable, so I know if I can get my head around it I can do it. I have done it before and can do it again.

    Hi Everybody,

I apologize for my absence from this site for quite some time now. I've had a rough time with my orchids, as my "orchidsitter" really did not take care of them in my absence, and it's been a real struggle to try and save at least some of them.

As for my weight loss goals, I have now switched to a low carb plan that's been amazing. And no, it's not one of those whacky no carb plans. Heck, even Atkins doesn't do that anymore (well, the Atkins plan, since Dr. Atkins is no longer with us). I am not doing Atkins however. I am doing something called StellaStyle. George Stella is a professional chef who was on the verge of dying, and who weighed 467 pounds when he started (you can google him to find his website, and there are quite a few of his recipes on the food network site, as he had two seasons of being one of their tv chefs). I hope you look him up, just to read his bio. He's down to 205 pounds, and his family of four has lost almost 600 pounds together. His recipes are nothing short of awesomely good (and fast and easy to prepare too), and I'm feeling better and more energetic than ever before.

I am no longer living on frozen dinners and take out foods, and I'm cooking and eating really well.

I've also purchased a Wii system, and am using that, along with the Wii Fit Plus, and the Biggest Loser for the Wii to work in some much needed exercise, and I also bowl with the sports program that came with the Wii, so I am now up and moving too.

Since September 28th, I've lost about 12.5 pounds. I don't mind that it's coming off slowly. More than the scale, my measurements are showing a big difference now.

But, as Carrie and I are finding out......... it's not even about the weight loss so much now, as it is that we are both feeling so much better and healthier.

Thanks Connie. I think the ones I did major surgery on will be okay. They just won't be too pretty. Oh well. I wasn't planning on entering any shows anyhow.

    Chantix really helped me.
It definitely helps to reduce the urge.
    Good luck!

Such good news, Anne. Don't worry, the orchids are tough and will recover with care.

    Talking good news!!!!

    Hello friends,

I came to this thread with good news.
I stopped smoking in February and then five months now.

Well, now I need to join Anne and Carrie, because I will fight to the pounds that I won, LOL.

I'm still surprised with my win ... I still can not believe.

My biggest motivation was the promise I made to my son - I promised that this year I would quit and I did it

Anne, I also use the Wii Fit and it has helped me a lot. Moreover I have practiced yoga, which definitely helps a lot.

I have to declare that life without cigarettes is pretty boring, rsrsrrsrsr just kidding.

I feel happy and confident and undoubtedly more healthy. It was a very difficult period the first two months and I was even a little depressed, but now I feel much better.

How are your plan and fights?

Carrie, how are you? I'll be always thanked for you cause you started this nice group. Thank you again.

I Have to thank you all. Since last september I'm waiting to tell you "I quit" and now it's possible. It was a reference for me and I'm very glad to share it with so nice people.

Wish you all are very good.
