Default More sadness on the News

I am not sure if we have any members in Indonesia but a series of massive quakes has hit them and killed 200 people mainly on the island of Sumatra and over 500 homes have been destroyed. Seems that Natural occurences are trying and succeeding on wreaking havoc in some of the most beautiful places in the world. my thoughts are with you and if we have members in that area may they be safe and anyones families over there be safe also.

Very sad news that now its thought over 500 people have lost their lives and the toll is rising as they find more people. I am sure we have members from that area and as you say Tim we just have to send our love and best wishes that everyone is safe and well.

Indeed very sad. It seems that the tectonic plates are really upto something, I read that there have been half a dozen earth quakes in California as well, with just some minor property damages.

Our thoughts and prayers to all the victims and their families in Padang, Sumatra. What a period September and October has been! Typhoons and floods in the Philippines and Vietnam, tsunami in Samoa, earthquake in Sumatra[could be felt in highrise buildings in our capital and other towns [- but no damage] and this morning, landslide in Sicily after torrential rain. 2 days ago our newspaper frontpage headline read THE EARTH STRIKES BACK. Makes one think, doesn't it?

It had been a bad week for disasters. Been following "super' typhoon Parma...looks like it will strike the Philippines within the next 24 hours. There are 3 other typhoons behind it. Parma could reach Category 5 level. Forced evacuations have been ordered. With the already saturated soil, this could be devastating for The Philippines.
