Bigfoot's (Phillip's) Progress

This is a discussion on Bigfoot's (Phillip's) Progress within the Orchid Community Support and Special Projects forums, part of the The Outback Terrace Bar category; Well that's a bummer. Hopefully this will be a very temporary, very minor setback....

Sorry to hear that, most probably he developed another sepsis we don't know the source maybe from lung (commonest) you also told us that he also got kidney shut down due to hypotension he definitely need renal replacement therapy (most probably done and need to do regularly until urine output come again ),Factor that decreased oxygen saturation:
    1. sespsis from cardiovascular and respiratory origin
2.Too much fluids in the body due to renal failure or heart failure
3.Kidney unable to remove drugs or other toxins in the body may cause disorientation.
4,Obesity reated causing splinting of diaphragm
If the condition persist he might need non-invasive ventilator but if cant sustain good oxygenation may require intubation again.
Just pray for him hopefully he wont deteriorate.Zain

Hang in there Maura, at least you know he's being taken good care of and the nurses have his number now and are paying extra special attention to him. hopefully this will resolve itself quickly.

    Hi y'all -

I forgot to tell you that Phillip is bipolar (as am I, which I said in my interview) and was off his psych meds for awhile while all this was going on. He says he's aware he's having delusions - for instance, he's convinced I am in the hospital, too, and is determined to come see me, although he couldn't say what hospital I was in - that's been going on for 3 or 4 days. My fear is that he often presents with paranoia before a full manic episode, and his delusions will cause him to fear everyone and do his utmost to run away. I know the meds he needs to control this (been through this a few times before he stabilized about 3 years ago)., but he needs an order to get it, so I requested a psych consult - hopefully today. I'm also going to call his regular psychiatrist to let him know what's going on. His kidneys seem to have recovered, btw, so that's no longer a big issue. BUT, I'm back to not being able to sleep, really, and I'm SO worried about him. This seems to have been going on for so long, and it's been a real roller coaster. I derive a lot of strength from my faith that everything happens for a reason and a Higher Power is directing all this, but it's hard to keep it up. I pray not to be given more than I can handle, and the same for Phillip, but I'm wearing down.

Thanks for all your support - I feel very alone here in Atlanta -
