    Branka:

I'm very sorry for your loss. Know how it feels. You gave that furry thing a good life and tons of love and I'm sure she is grateful for that.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

    Author unknown...
I remember you sent that to me before you lost your horse-very moving. Each time i read it, it brings a small tear to my eye, and makes me think 'it isnt so bad!' Just remember that Branka, it isnt so bad, and as is sometimes said, death is just another part of the journey, a path that we all must take.

My heart goes out to you Branka, in your time of loss. Loving other creatures is easy, but saying goodbye is always so very difficult. You are in our thoughts.

How lovely to see what a caring community this is!

Branka, I can utterly sympathize, and wish you well - it is lovely that your cat had such a long and wonderful life with you, but I am sure you will miss her for some time, *sigh*.....I still miss my faithful hound, who laid down and died after a long life a year ago, despite having two others.

(This is off-topic, but I notice you are from Slovenia? My grandparents are from Travnik (Cerkno) and Hrib–Loški Potok. Now, THEY were some flower gardeners - that's where I got my love of flowers....)

I have always wished that my furry and feathered family members could stay by my side the entire journey of life as they enrich life so greatly. It is because you have loved so deeply that you feel the pain so keenly which means that your kitty had a wonderful life. I am very sorry to hear of your loss.
