Default plants from the GLOS at MSU

A lot of pics - think I got a little bit of something for everyone. My 'game' was a bit off, however, so I apologize in advance that the pics aren't all as good as I would have liked. Also I didn't get names for all of them Sorry about that.

Had trouble trying to focus through the glass case without too much glare. But it was such a cute lil devil! Plant was only 2 or 3 inches (approx 5-8cm) tall.

One of my favorite genera, Scaphosepalum. Brings to mind a mouth with long mustaches.

This cutie won best of show -- I had never seen nor heard of this one before.

I was surprised this was an Odont -- small plant large flowers -- at first look I thought it was a Milt.

I liked the cleanness of this one -- Odont. Serendipity

Flowers like this make me regret that I can't do cool growers. *sigh* This Masdie's flower was about 5 inches tall

I liked in this shot that you can seen a bit of the purple iridescence in the upper portion of the right hand flower.

Quite a large flower [5 -6 inches tall] for you greenie lovers.

The only Drac I saw at the show. Liked the color on it.

Definitely one of my favorite dens. Den spectabile

As you can see, the person who grew this D spectabile is still trying to get the hang of it.

LOL! Maybe some day someone will create a minihybrid of it. Until then I'll just have to enjoy ones that others grow

Nice orange Cym

For you Paph/Phrag heads

And finally, a "stinky"........... nice sized flowers though

What a show! It was neat to see the drac and the orbis. Both are really nice.

Cheers,

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

excellent show, nice variety of plants! Thanks for taking us to the show or rather the show to us!

My fave is the paph with the red tag on it.. must have won something... and looking at it, likely to be some sort of Paph fairrieanum hybrid with the distinct downswept, wavy petals.

cheers
tim

They're all lovely. My favourites are the pink/white odont, the orange masdie and the orange cym.

I'll be different. They all are beautiful but I was attracted to the Scaphosepalum. I have never seen that one. I need to look up it's cultural requirements.

wow..... just wow.

I really love the irridescent Masdie's... but the den. spectabile is overwhelming!

Makes my humble phals look like common petunias!
