I'm just wondering why you weren't able to make extreme close up shots. Hmmm .... How is it over there in the U.S. with your orchid shows? Are the organizers kind of strict there for close up photography by the viewer(s)? I know it might be a cultural thing but here in local Philippine Orchid shows it is kind of lax a bit and you can come up close to the plant to take close up photography. Just be sure to be very careful that you don't mess up the display or knock anything off or break anything. Worse you might break off a flowering spike. Don't think of grabbing or cutting off a plant and running off to the exit because there are eyes all around. Besides there is only an entrance and an exit door which is heavily patrolled by local POS members and officials. Hehehehe .... it's just a good thing that my face is familiar to most of them so I am able to go into the display booth and come up real close to the plant (with my camera of course as my decoy). Hehehehe ....

Beautiful show but where were all the people?? Was it well attended? No ads over here for it, the only way I heard about it was your post. Thanks for sharing your pics.

I attended the show on its fourth day. Very few people this year. I guess it could be the venue - past shows were set up around the sunken garden area and lagoon near the city hall. I was told that there was some re-modelling and construction work going on over there by the city government this year so the organizers decided to showcase the show at the Manila Seedling Bank greenhouses this year.

The city hall area has a high traffic rate in terms of people and it is very visible unlike in the seedling bank where only die-hard plant afficionados would really think of making the effort to go there for an orchid show.

Jojo, any advise about growing my Cycd. Winde Delight and And. clowesii is more than welcome!!!!!
I took more than 130 pics and the reason I didn't post many of the close-ups is because I wanted to show the displays. It was so beautiful!!!

I was doing my best not to have people on the pictures but may be because of the storm or because it was late (we got there after 5 PM) there were not many people at the show. I know the AOS had a bus attending the show... But I also know my GPS took me to a wrong place first because someting was wrong with the address?!?! But once we got there we had a great time! They had food and drinks and tables inside and my husband let me go around and take my pictures while he relaxed with a cold beer there (he came from work after all)!
