Since you aren't going, I'd thought I'd be cruel and tempt you even more with a few more photos!
You can see all the photos now at: http://groups.msn.com/MattsOrchidPhotos

Christopher-
I was shocked at the number of people today....the orchids were "flying off the shelves." The vendors really had some nice things and some of the displays were the best I've seen (though the number of shows I've attended really isn't that many). I was so impressed, I might go back again.
The plants from the Marjorie McNeely collection are UNBELIEVABLE. Speaking of which, have you been over to see the newly renovated orchid greenhouse there to house their collection? I haven't had a chance yet, but that might be on my list for tomorrow as well. The show has intravenously delivered a high dose of orchid fever to my system.
I'd try to go right at 9am as the browsing is a little less hectic, and it was nice to have some time to speak with the growers before they got too busy.

Very nice! Thanks Matt. They're all terrific, but that miltoniopsis stole my heart!

I just returned from the show. Wonderful plants on display! The psychopsis papilio (sorry, no picture) was amazing - one of my favorites! I haven't made it over to the conservatory yet but it is on my list.

Somehow, I walked away without buying anything. I was suprised at the number of minis and masdies that were there, both in the show as well as for sale. I haven't tried my hand at those yet so it was easier to walk away.

I did add a few to my wish list while walking through the show area...

Christopher-

I went back again today, I'm such a sucker! I came home with an Oncidium cheirophorum and a Brassavola cucullata, so I ended up adding 8 plants in all to my collection. Oh, and by the way, hold off on the Marjorie McNeely trip...I stopped over today and they STILL don't have any of the new areas open yet. It was such a disappointment. This is the third time I've tried, and they say "it will be open by such and such a date" and it never is. They have moved a lot of the collection to the new orchid viewing room, but it's closed, so you can only look from a distance. I'm going to call next time since it's such a haul for me from Eden Prairie/Chanhassen area.

To everyone: I added a whole lotta' additional photos to my MSN page of the show... Have a look, there are some neat things, and I labeled as many as I could for identification.

Thanks for go to the trouble of posting labeling those, Matt! They're great - almost as good as being there.
