I think it must be fairly usual cos I've seen a couple of Phals with flowering keikis as well, o and a Vanda. As to when (or if) to remove keikis: what I am certain of is that a keiki develops much faster while attached to the mother plant because it has all her resources feeding it- when separated it suddenly has to make its own way in the world... just like any seedling- so it slows down. If a keiki has flowered it is more likely to be more advanced and self-sufficient, with less impact on its development when removed. (Sheesh just listen to me! Holding forth like I'm some sort of expert haha! I am an embarrasment!) I love chatting w u Kathi!

Never done that BD, but I hope I get it right so here goes...

The first photo shows the central aisle in the RHS Agricultural Hall where these things have been held for a century, followed by the fragrant stand of the Akerne nursery from Belgium with the "Best in Show" Dendrobium.

I'm always happy to see Laelia anceps (my first love) and they had the orange form called something romantic to do with sunset or sunrise and probably love- I can never remember exactly- you all must know it as half of you guys probably have it in the back yard!

The miniaturists were out in force, of course. So here is one a cute Restrepia (trichoglossa.)
