Keep up the encouraging comments about this show, please! I managed to get this day off from work and really want to go. I was expecting to go with one of the local societies since they rented out a bus, but I signed up too late. The bus was full. I've only been to NYC a few times and have never made the trip alone so I'm totally terrified at the prospect. I just know I'll get lost somewhere. I'm just not a big city girl. So send some happy thoughts please!

I had a dream last night that I was looking to buy phals, and I ended up in a grocery store where the manager showed me some phals he had hidden in a storage room. He wanted to sell them really expensive. i said no, got out and as I looked back I saw the cops arresting them for selling illegal articles???? I wonder if it was the orchids. You know its my dream, I should have been informed!!!

I Can't WAIT TO GO THIS SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to go NOW!!!

I went to the auto show in Manhatten last sunday, and I forgot my camera, I hope I dont forget it this time.

Don't worry - just prepare yourself. Google the show and there will probably be very good directions. Print them out. Figure out how long you think it will take. Plan it out, then just keep thinking "Millions of people do this - I'll be just fine"

(At least that has helped me when going to a foreign country for the first time..)

ITA with Diane - cept I'm just not such a planner hehe, but it will be great! Think of the neat orchids you can find and..... the nice food you can get in NYC...
My other 1/2 is going to be working almost all week there and I will be left with keeping my 2 small kids happy in the big city... EEP!! I feel a bit nervous about that!! Guess I'd better start googling - so I can impress the husband with what fun I found to do in NYC for the kids...

While I admire the pretty orchids I buy all week in the hotel room YAY!

New York City is very easy to get around in. Don't let it terrify you. When I moved from there to Boston back in '94, I found Boston utterly confounding (I still do!)

Definitely go and enjoy the show!

If I end up going, it'll be on Friday. That's the day I was able to get off of work. I'll be coming from the Philadelphia, PA area, probably by train... coming in to Penn Station. That's how I've gotten into NYC before. So if you're going on Friday, I'd be up for meeting you there! As long as you don't mind that my Polish isn't great and that I'll be taking A TON of pictures.

Czesc ptaszek,

Too bad...We are going on Sunday--the only day my sister could do. I was all excited about meeting Polish-speaking orchid lover! Have fun and don't worry about navigating NYC. It is easy to find Rockefeller Center using a subway map and following the stream of people carrying orchids!
