    Default Coastal Carolina Orchid Society

Coastal Carolina Orchid Society is having a show in October. Right around my b-day too. Has anyone ever been? It's in Charleston on October 22-24. I'm thinking about dragging my mom if I can get a day to get off from school.

You definitely should if you can, Jennifer. I've never been, but heard it's a nice local show. Your mom would like it too!

Have you been to any shows yet? If not, Definitly go at least for a couple of hours. You will have a great time, and see some orchids that are out of this world I'm sure. I'm sure any orchid society will put on a great show.

And do bring your Mom, get her addicted too so she will buy you plants . LOL, I'm just kidding, bring her along, at least she will see some beautiful flowers.

How is your oncidium doing? Mine is doing well, I'm hoping for some flowers in the next 6 months or so....

I've never been to a show. But, this place will be like four hours from me...so I was wondering which day would be better to go? Sat or Sun? Which days usually has the best stuff to see, and itinerary.

My onc. is doing great, I'm so glad that I traded with you. I can't wait to see it bloom too. My other oncidum will probably bloom first, but I am trying to be a good orchid grower and not get impatient.

I have gone to shows on the second day (which usually falls on a Saturday) and it was great. The vendors still had good stock, and the show was just great. That is the beautiful thing about orchids, they stay 'alive' for months, so you won't miss anything.

    Hi Jennifer,

I might look into going. It's about 4 hours for me, too. Do you have details?

But so far not much detail other than the date it will be. I'm excited, I really want to go to one. I might go to the one in Durham...It's not really a show but like a seminar type thing.

Where do you live in NC...if I may ask a personal question?

I'm in Mooresville, Jennifer, about 30 min north of Charlotte on I-77.

I might try to go to Charleston. That would be cool.

The one in Durham that you mentioned, is that the one in November? The orchid society I belong to is planning a display. I'm going to go, too. Maybe we'll see you!!
