Thank you everyone! I wish I had more time to take more detailed pictures but it was either that, missing the last train & getting stranded or sleeping at home

Unusual isn't it? The colour doesn't show up properly but it's very deep burgundy red sort of colour. I think it was a vendor from Taiwan, they mostly had different Phals. I got to sniff their Penang Girl because I have one and I've read different things about its smell. I quite liked it.

I was quite surprised to see the dtps label since doritis has been merged with phal and it does not exist as a taxonomical name any longer.

Yeah, other than having to change a ton of tags and informing thousands of people (including those at the show that probably had something to do with it!)

really? Is this a fairly new development? I was looking at some orchids online (I am not buying any more, honest ) and there were a few plants labelled as Dtps still.

Doritis is now considered to be a true Phalaenopsis. But Dtps still is the accurate genus for the hybrids. They do that when they change a genus. They don't change the names of the hybrid genera they remain the same. So even though a Dtps. primary hybrid really has both parents from Phal, it's still a Dtps.

Elena, your photos are wonderful, and I love both your Paphs! Your avatar is quite handsome, to boot! Thanks for taking us along on your adventure, and I'm glad you had fun! Many orchidaceous returns!

McJulie
