Default Pics from the Livonia show ... something for everyone

At least I tried to take a montage of pics. One downside to this show ... it is held in a mall. As a result, the lighting leaves a lot to be desired.

I thought this was about the most impressive display

For Aaron [Abro]

Btw, the shomb in the pic above .... that's not several plants in the same pot, it is just one big *** plant. I am SO glad I wasn't the one who had to move it!

This minicatt caught my eye. I wound up buying one from a vender at the show.

For Daniel, one of the very few nonwhite angraecums I've seen

For the paph-heads

Some misc ones

Nice red milt.

I WISH I could grow masdies!!!!!!!!!! The color on this one was just awesome, IMO!

And the flowers were large!

A cute purple masdie:

I'd never seen orange Lycaste before

There was a vender selling cyps! If I had a yard and felt any confidence at all that I could avoid killing them, I would have been sorely tempted. Here's one from his display. Didn't realize what a small plant Calypso bulbosa was

I love that colour
That's a spectacular display for a mall!

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Those are great, great photos- thank you so much for sharing them with us!! I really respect people that bring their orchids to show...its a great deal of work to transplant all those plants so they don't get too stressed out!!! I LOVE the minicatt that you purchased- what is the name of it? I've been dying for something red...

Great lovely pictures! Certainly I will be on the look out for that red catt with yellow lip and the yellow angraecum!
Cheers. Hoa.

Hey Bruce, if ya feel daring or confident & want to try the cyps, pm me & I'll try to dig up the guy's contact info.

The catt is actually not red .... it's orange. It was because of that that I did not pick up an Iwanagara. For those still interested, the name is Blc Lily Marie Almas. you can pm me if ya'd like the venders' contact info.

Wow, great pics. Love the minicatt - it's vibrant!
I thought the Calypso bulbosa looked familiar. It's listed in the Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Wildflowers Eastern Region. Range is listed as across Canada; south to New England and northern New York; west to Michigan and Minnesota. Bloom time May - July. Wouldn't it be so awesome to see this growing in the wild??!!!!
Thanks for sharing the orchid show with us.
Tami
