    Default Stelis spp

This is a plant I collected in Peru in a 2006 orchid collecting expedition. It spiked last year. I assumed by the buds that this was a Stelis but thought they never opened. I assumed it blasted prior to opening.

While examining it today,I happen to have my glasses handy, I have discovered that a few flowers have opened. I have no idea what this is. Any help would be appreciated. I still assume it is a Stelis

The plant is about 5" tall in a 2.5" pot. I did the best I could with a close-up of these small flowers.

Sure wish I had the email of this really amazing expert I had the opportunity to hear talk about his travels to Machu Pichu and the native species he had encountered. He would know. One of his slides looked very similar to yours.

    Hi Ron....

Nina Rach spoke last Tuesday at the Denver Orchid Society on Orchids of Guatemala...I'm not sure where else she's spent time, but she was extremely knowledgable...might be worth trying to contact her about this plant. (which is very cool looking, by the way).

I'm sure the DOS people could help you contact her-pm me if you want their contact information.
