    Default Peristeria elata

This on is known as the "Holy Ghost" or "Dove" orchid because of the dove inside the flower. It's really cool in person.

That's really pretty, Lisa. The violet spottings on the leading edges of those "wings" really sets them off and makes them stand out. Nice job, and good photo, too!

that's wonderful! I had one and it died (new growths rotted off until it had no more eyes to grow from).

The plant is huge and grows like nobody's business! I recently repoted into a 10 pot and it has 4 new growths. For some reason it likes it here, though someone did tell me recently that they've killed several. The flowers are so amazing, about 1 1/2 inches and very firm. The flowers last about 10 days or so. I wish ya'll could see it in person, it's really nice.

Is is fragrant? I *looks* like it should have a really sweet scent...or are look deceiving?
